The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) for 17 specialized is a dual degree program, a collaboration between the national UK level training system and the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI). DBA is the highest scientific, academic degree in Business Administration

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with 17 majors program focuses on knowledge-intensive research in management and business administration. It has 2 stages (1) the learning phase and research in-depth issues of the organization with 8 modules; and (2) research phase and form a career-oriented applied doctoral thesis.

Through the process of learning and research, students are not only knowledgeable research capacity (a mandatory competency at the doctor level), but also developed strong knowledge, depth of each activity of the enterprise, as a foundation for in-depth research and teaching in each industry and field that I am passionate about.

After completing the core courses in the business and management areas, the program targets research in-depth to form a new theory applicable to industries and sectors that the student is studying or teaching.

Unlike the PhD in Management program, the DBA program aims to in-depth research for highly applied in the industry that the candidate is interested in researching. The doctor candidates are selected to major in DBA (according to the list) upon graduation. Majors are shown right on the degree and transcript.

As a dual degree program, upon graduation, fellows will contemporaneously receive 2 Doctoral degrees:

  • The Professional Doctoral Degree belongs to the UK National Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF): OTHM Level 8 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice
  • Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in one of 17 majors from SIMI Switzerland

  • SIMI is fully accredited by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, University and Colleges) at the highest Premier Institute level. The Doctor of Business Majors programme is accredited by OTHM, a Level awarding organisation that is accredited by Ofqual.

Assessment and Verification:

All modules and doctoral dissertation of the dual degree Doctor in  Business Administration program are assessed by SIMI and the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation UK. Learners must demonstrate mastery of knowledge and attainment of competencies described in detail in the programme’s Syllabus.

Entry requirements

To enrol the Dual degree Doctor of Business Administration in 17 majors, the learner must possess:

  • Graduated with a Master’s degree from an accredited university or achieved a Level 7 Diploma according to the European Qualifications
  • For a degree from non-recognized universities; The student should have followed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)policy of SIMI.
  • Learners must be over 24 years old.

SIMI reserves the highest decision-making power for admission whether to accept or not accept after a specific review of each candidate’s profile to ensure that they can comprehend and gain benefits when participating.

For the fake university or the diploma mills, SIMI shall not be accepted.

English requirements

If a learner is not from a predominantly English speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

  • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent
