The achievements of the Dual Degree Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is to combine theory and intensive practice in the field of administration and management, emphasising planning, strategic management, sales, administration, and comprehensive operation of all parts of an enterprise. SIMI’s MBA with dual degree programme is the only programme that combines the UK National Qualifications Framework with the Swiss Higher Education system.

In addition to specialised knowledge, learners are also equipped with problem-solving skills, team leadership skills, human resource management and independent thinking ability, to be able to self-study and self-development in the corporate environment, as well as doing their own in-depth research in the dissertation process, business research or study up to  Doctor.

The distinctions in accreditation and recognition:

The Master of Business Administration is a dual degree programme, a collaboration between the national UK level training OTHM and the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI). Both organisations have achieved accreditations and recognition for the institution and programmatic.

  • SIMI is fully accredited by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, University and Colleges) at the highest Premier Institute level. The Master of Business Administration programme is accredited by OTHM, a Level awarding organisation that is accredited by Ofqual.
  • OTHM is the UK’s Level Awarding Organisation, accredited and recognized by Ofqual UK.

The Dual Degree Master of Business Administration programme consists of 6 mandatory modules and a Master Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project for a combined total of 160 credits, lasting a minimum of 1.5 years.

After each module, learners will take an ending exam. The end-of-module exams are application-oriented essays to help learners review knowledge, apply knowledge in the workplace, and improve the practical environment.

Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project will be associated with solutions in the workplace. It can be a business plan or a management improvement project written in 7,000 – 8,000 words

Graduating from the Dual Degree Master of Business Administration programme, the learner could:

Teaching and learning strategies:

The central training philosophy of the programme starts from understanding the theory and case studies that are currently applied in world enterprises to the process of applying the learned knowledge to the enterprises themselves and the learners’ business environment. In addition to the practical knowledge, the programme also equips the necessary skills for a business leader and manager in the volatile and risky global business context.

The programme is Learner-centered and focuses on solving learners’ problems:

The Learner-centered training method will focus on solving learners’ problems through background knowledge and case studies that are applied in successful businesses worldwide. Through each module, learners will step by step solve management problems that they face every day with the guidance of the theoretical system, the practice system, expert lecturers and local teaching assistants.

 Entry requirements

To enrol the Dual Degree Master of Business Administration, the learner must possess:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or achieved a Level 6 Diploma according to the European Qualifications
  • For a degree from non-recognized universities; The learner should have followed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy of SIMI.
  • Learners must be over 21 years old.

SIMI reserves the highest decision-making power for admission whether to accept or not accept after a specific review of each candidate’s profile to ensure that they can comprehend and gain benefits when participating.

For the fake university or the diploma mills, SIMI shall not be accepted.

English requirements

If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent
  • Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent

SIMI Switzerland has been accredited the “premier institution” status by the ASIC, and the programme is also accredited by Ofqual’s UK.
